Laurel Myers Hurst, MS, MA, APRN-CNP, PMHNP-BC

Laurel received her nursing education from The Ohio State University and is board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She focuses on trauma-responsive, person-centered diagnosis and treatment and is advanced trained in Family Systems Trauma Therapy.

In 2023, Laurel will be certified as an integrative psychiatric provider, recommending nutritional and botanical support alongside medication management for optimal health through ARC Wellness. Laurel is also a Blomberg Rhythmic Movement Training (BRMT) consultant. Practice of the BRMT protocol helps the brain make new and healthy connections through primitive reflex integration to overcome developmental deficits and difficulties brought on by infection, toxins, injury, and stress.

Prior to retraining as a nurse, Laurel's work as an ethnomusicologist included research and university teaching and awards from the GRAMMY Foundation and the Ohio Arts Council. Her love of music and health care led to creating groove-based drumming groups for mental wellness. The Albert Schweitzer Foundation named Laurel among the 200 top graduate student healthcare innovators in 2021.

Laurel is mom to five and a spouse of 32 years. Laurel loves to visit her sons in the Navy and Air Force and to explore National Parks when she gets time away.
